Recruitment process and guidelines

We’re growing, and we recruit regularly for positions primarily in the U.S., but also in other countries around the world.

Because we get a large number of applications for all of our openings, we ask everyone interested in working for us to follow our application guidelines closely. Trying to short-circuit our system makes it less efficient for us – and it won’t improve your chances of employment.

Our recruitment process is very selective and thorough because it has to be: identifying and vetting those with the right hard and soft skills to protect our clients is critical to their wellbeing and our success. You can expect the process to take from four to six weeks from application to employment.

  • After you complete the online application process you will receive an automated response confirming that we have received your application. There is no need to contact us to see if we received your application.
  • If your qualifications match our requirements for a current opening, we will reach out for an initial information request. Please note that only candidates who are considered a good client fit will be contacted at this point in the process; we appreciate your understanding of this.
  • All applicants who reach this stage will be contacted for an initial phone interview. We recommend that you prepare for this by reading this website, including our career guide and some of our blogs.
  • Upon completion of the initial screening, candidates can expect further interviews with a specific team leader and/or manager, different forms of testing and, of course, full-scope background screening. Since our process is largely proprietary, we do not list all of it here.
  • After the completion of our internal screening and interviewing, selected candidates will be invited to complete our physical fitness test (PFT), which they must pass.
  • The PFT is required only for close protection and emergency response positions. See our PFT standards for men and women below.
  • Final selection of candidates takes place after completion of the vetting process. In some cases, top candidates will be interviewed by the client organization as well.

Physical Fitness Testing (PFT) Standards


  • 1-mile run in 9 minutes or less
  • 30 push-ups in 1 minute or less
  • 40 sit-ups in 1 minute or less
  • 4 pull-ups, any grip, unbroken, in 20 seconds or less


  • 1-mile run in 9 minutes or less
  • 20 push-ups in 1 minute or less
  • 30 sit-ups in 1 minute or less
  • 15-second flexed hang, any grip, unbroken
